This powerful Pulitzer Prize and 1977 Tony Award-winning play concerns three families, facing the truth about life, as they endure their circumstances with passion, joy, and humor. The action takes place in three cottages located in the woods by a lake. Joe is a blue collar worker from New Jersey whose wife Maggie and daughter Stevie are soon to arrive. Brian is attended by Mark, his lover and caretaker, when Brian’s former wife drunkenly surprises them with a visit. Wheelchair-bound Felicity provokes her conservative daughter Agnes with sassy backtalk and bawdy ballads. “The Shadow Box” is about wonderfully different people, who learn about living until you die rather than dying while you live. Playwright Michael Cristofer’s other credits include a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nomination for the TV adaptation of “The Shadow Box,” which was directed by Paul Newman and starred Joanne Woodward.
Show runs Friday & Saturday nights at 8 pm (no show Friday 10/31)
